Travis - was wondering where you found the info that you posted on the permaculture guild podcasts. If you got it from a website, would you mind sharing the URL? I want to ask those folks a couple of questions.

At any rate, it was a real help. I printed it out and am using it to help me with my companion planting this spring - thanks!

The guild I put together, the companion planting has been taken from many sights and publications. I will go through my notes and get a few of the websites for you. But the Guilds are just me looking at the puzzle pieces and putting them together.

OK, I was wondering b/c at some point the narrative gets personal: "We've been doing this for years and it is remarkable." (Unless that was your editorial?)

And then about okra, there's a comment: "For planting with the peas plant your okra first....you may find that the peas are far less bothered by aphids when near okra."

I found that strange, b/c okra is typical a southern summer veg, and in the south we can't plant peas past March and they are not happy by May. So I was wondering if this was written by someone in the south who uses okra to shade them and so has success with peas. ??

On the okra etc I can't remember the website but I do know all the general research was done for my personal garden, and looked for northern climate resources, I believe that came from either Oregon or Washington St. 90 to maybe even 100% of the info is from Kentucky north. When I had to clean up my computer, I lost all of my saved links, but I'll keep on it. There is some good info on companion planting on the www.permies.com forum. I followed many of the links people gave there. That may help too.
